It Starts In The Sole: Boost Technology
When the Boost technology first debuted, it was like nothing the world had ever seen. Made from hundreds of foam capsules welded together, Boost technology delivered 20% more energy return than EVA rubber, the midsole standard in the industry. More energy return meant a shoe that responded to each stride, giving back what you put into your run.
In 2015, adidas put their Boost technology to the test: Kenyan long-distance runner Dennis Kimetto ran the Berlin marathon in a shoe with Boost tech. He didnt just win, he crushed the world record by 26 seconds for a time of 2:02:57. Boost wasnt just fast, it was record-setting. With this technology, adidas was one step closer to their legendary adidas Ultraboost.

How Have The Adidas Ultraboost Sneakers For Women Evolved
Since the first release of the adidas UltraBoost shoes for women, there have been several design changes. These designs offer you a variety to choose from or to buy at least more than one. First, there is the original UltraBoost, which was launched in 2015. Then came the Adidas UltraBoost 19, which has more boost in the midsole and has a snugger fit than the original UltraBoost.
The UltraBoost ST was later designed as an upgrade from the UltraBoost. This design featured a firm heel counter and dual-density cushioning under the arch. Then came the UltraBoost Laceless. These sneakers consist of all the breathtaking features of the UltraBoost, only they do not have laces. The other UltraBoost DNA cloud white shoes were released originally in white, resembling the clouds and giving a cloud-like ride in them. Other styles include the UltraBoost All Terrain, UltraBoost x Missoni, UltraBoost Uncaged, UltraBoost S& l, and UltraBoost Parley. There is also the UltraBoost x Game of Thrones.
adidas UltraBoost sneakers are high-performance shoes, designed to adapt to any foot and any foot stride. While running, your heel and forefoot rotate against each other, causing stretching and friction in the midfoot. The adidas UltraBoost is designed with a free-floating arch that adapts and adjusts with all the foot movements, leading to a personalized fit for any foot. This is made possible by the motion-tracking technology used to identify where your feet need support during motion.

The Foam Midsole That Broke The Mold
Adidas shoes and apparel have always had a place in pop culture and hip-hop style, but until just eight years ago, the brand had lost real ground as a maker of top running shoes. Thats when Boost came along and overhauled the midsoles beneath those three stripes. At a time when EVA foams dominated midsoles in the running shoe market, Boost used thermoplastic polyurethane capsules that were more durable and responsive, and provided better energy return than previous cushioning systems.
If youre wondering why so many of our top womens Adidas shoes include a Boost midsole, its because the technology hit the market on Adidass Energy Boost shoe in 2013 and quickly changed the industry game. Boost was the first strike in what weve come to call the foam wars, now that other shoe brands have developed their own lightweight and springy proprietary foams.
Why The Knitted Upper And Foamy Midsole In These Sneakers
The knitted upper of the adidas UltraBoost sneakers are not only for decoration but are also meant to stretch and then snap back into place. This feature ensures that the sneaker is not restrictive and that it does not stretch too much. The cagey lacing structure and the heel counter hugs your foot and locks it into place.
These fashion shoes for women have a foamy midsole or what is primarily known to many as the boost. The midsole is filled with tiny energy capsules joined to provide a springy, soft, and shock-absorbing ride. It has a pillow and a trampoline feel that gives you a boost feel when combined.

You know Im a fan of mixed-format treadmill classes. Im loyal to Orangetheory Fitness, but also like to mix it up with a Barrys Bootcamp or SLT Tread class here and there. The problem with these classes is finding a shoe that can power you through the treadmill portion while also keeping your feet steady during the weightlifting blocks.
In the years Ive been a fitness editor, Ive gotten to try plenty of sneakers. And while I tend to stick to the tried-and-true running shoes I got fitted for at a running speciality shop for my half marathon to power me on the tread, I was pumped when Adidas sent me a pair of their Ultraboost 20 Shoes . I had heard good things about the Ultraboosts, and always thought they looked chic and stylish on my friends who rocked older versions of the sneaker. It wasnt until I put them to the test that I really got the hype.
Adidas Ultraboost Shoes For The Streets
Though it was made to log miles, it didnt take long before the adidas Ultraboosts sleek silhouette and neutral tones took over streetwear.
With the help of Kanye West, who performed in a pair of Triple White adidas Ultraboost and quickly caused the shoe to sell out, adidas Ultraboost became a staple of street fashion. Their colorways were easy to match with, and the Boost midsole was instantly recognizable. New Boost iterations like the adidas Ultraboost Uncaged, which ditches the midfoot cage, and the adidas Ultraboost Parley, made from recycled waste, continue to up the game for streetwear. Innovation At Every Step
To solve for Boosts unique demands, adidas incorporated several of their newest technologies: Primeknit and the Torsion bar. Primeknit offered an upper that was both supportive and capable of stretching, allowing it to bend with the flexible Boost midsole. The Torsion bar provided support under the arch, but still allowed the forefoot and heel to move independently and capitalize on the Boosts ability to bend with the foot. The key was to find materials that would complement the Boost midsole and maximize its potential. Each new rendition of the Ultraboost line offers innovative technology and original style. The adidas Ultraboost 19 provides an updated midfoot cage and heel frame for a lighter feel and fresh look.
History Meets Innovation In Womens Adidas Ultraboost Shoes
For nearly a century, adidas has been in the business of creating signature shoes. Some would even say at the very forefront. After all, this is the brand that introduced Stan Smiths, released over four decades ago and still going strong. In fact, the stockrooms at adidas are full of living legends.
But just because adidas struck gold early on in doesnt mean their great creations arent still coming. Consider the adidas Ultraboost. Released in 2015, this sneaker has cemented its place as a power player in the Three Stripes wheelhouse. Thanks to its adoption by world-class runners, womens adidas Ultraboost shoes are bound to have some serious staying power.

New Frontiers In Foam
Two years after the EnergyBoost dropped, Three Stripes upped the ante again with the release of the Ultraboostthe brands plushest and bounciest shoe yet. This new model kept the coveted Boost foam, but added more cushioning and a grippy, flexible Continental rubber outsole. Naturally, competing brands had no choice but to retaliate. Nike countered with its React and ZoomX foams, Reebok took aim with its lightweight Floatride, Brooks responded with its energizing DNA Amp, and New Balance debuted its responsive Fresh Foam, to name just a few. Although these foams have all seen huge successes in the ongoing battle of the bounce, few have matched the Ultraboosts devotedsome even say cult-likefollowing.

Adidas Ultraboost 20 Review
After making significant changes to the UltraBoost formula for 2019, Adidas has opted for a far more minimal update for the 2020 edition of the shoe. That may be why the marketing campaign for the UltraBoost 2020 has been all about space, rather than the shoe itself.
The space theme comes as a result of Adidass partnership with the International Space Station US National Laboratory. In practical terms all that partnership really means for the shoe is that it has a slightly space-y look, mainly because of the iridescent Boost foam on some colourways. Which I do like, to be fair.
However, the changes to the structure of the shoe itself are largely confined to the upper, which now features Tailored Fibre Placement technology. This means targeted support to hold your foot in place on the run, because knitted uppers can be a little loose especially when rounding corners, though I didnt really have this problem with the UltraBoost 19.
The changes to the upper are noticeable though. Its certainly tighter, to the point where you cant slip the shoe on without undoing the laces like you could with every past UltraBoost, which is a little annoying in truth. However, when running on wet and icy pavements in winter its no bad thing to have a more secure fit up top.
It does come at a cost, but the £160 price is offset somewhat by the fact you can wear the UltraBoost 20 when not running too, since its significantly more stylish than the average running shoe.

Adidas Ultraboost 19 Review
Meet the new Boost, which for the first time is not the same as the old Boost. Since Adidas launched the original UltraBoost in 2015 it has largely been content to tinker with the formula of combining impressive Boost cushioning with a fashionable knitted upper rather than overhaul it with each new edition. That is until the arrival of the new UltraBoost 19, which sees Adidas making some substantial changes to the shoe.
That starts with whacking 20% more Boost foam into the midsole, which Adidas has done without adding anything to the weight of the shoe . The upper has also been updated, with a Primeknit 360 sock that completely wraps the foot sitting on top of the Boost foam.
The midfoot cage has been changed too, which will delight many runners, especially those who took to cutting off the plastic on the original UltraBoost because they found it uncomfortable. On the UltraBoost 19 the cage has been replaced by a translucent mesh that locks the foot in place without imposing itself.
What really matters, of course, is what these changes mean to your experience when running in the shoe. And the good news is that the ride has improved, especially in terms of how secure the fit of the upper is.
