Testing To Get Back Into The Usa
Sandals is currently providing free onsite testing for guests. It was an easy process. They left a note in my room letting me know my test would be Friday at 7:20am before my Sunday departure. I went down to the designated room, had the Covid test, and my results were in my room by 2pm on Saturday. Before I knew it was back on the shuttle that Sunday heading to the airport. Once again my paperwork was checked and I was on my way home!

Like all Sandals resorts, its an all-inclusive, adults-only, couples resort. Sandals knows romance and theyre the most idealistic properties to visit with your other half.
The Sandals Grande St Lucian is situated on its very own peninsula, with the calm waters of Rodney Bay on one side, and the magnificent Atlantic Ocean on the opposite side. There are panoramic views of the lush green hills of Pigeon Island, as well as imposing mountains beyond the twinkling turquoise waters. The waters of the beach are some of the calmest in St Lucia, and its the postcard perfect destination for a memorable, romantic vacation.

Do you like the beach or the pool? If youre a swimming pool type of person, there are several pools where you can mingle or peacefully chill. The main pool has a swim up bar. Did you know that the first swim up bar at a resort in the Caribbean was at a Sandals resort? When you see swim up bars at any resorts, we really have to thank Sandals for making it such a popular amenity. At the swim up bar, there are loungers around the pool, both in and out of the water. Its a great place to meet new friends, too.
Seeking serenity? There are quiet swimming pool areas around the resort, too. In this Sandals Grande St Lucian review, Ill be referring mostly to one of the quiet swimming pools because I swam and lounged there the most. There were only ever a few people around it, and everyone was mostly into sipping cocktails and reading their books. I mostly had the swimming pool all to myself. And if I felt like heading to the beach, it was steps away from the pool. It was really nice alternating back and forth between the beach and the pool.

First, lets go over all the perks of staying at one of the 3 Sandals Resorts in St Lucia, because there are many. When you stay with Sandals, roundtrip airport transfers and WiFi are included. Of course, food and drinks are included in your stay at these resorts and there is a stocked mini bar in every room.
Sandals Resorts boast about their exclusive deal with Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks wines that are available at all 3 resorts. And there are a total of 27 restaurants combined between the 3 resorts for you to choose from, as well as, 21 bars. Of course each resort has at least 1 swim-up bar on their property as well.

Excursions And Activities At The Sandals Grande Resort
If you wanted to do nothing but lie on the beach and relax all day, this is certainly a beautiful place to do that. Elliot and I did plenty of just lounging around and doing nothing. On several of the mornings during our trip we simply woke up, went for a leisurely breakfast at Toscaninis and then made our way to the beach.
However, we are both the type of person who cant sit still for long and we were also eager for things to do. Fortunately, we had a lot of options to choose from when it comes to activities and entertainment at the resort.
The resort offers up a full program of daytime activities, such as pool volleyball, reggae dancing, trivia and more. Also, there are many sporting experiences that are included, such as water skiing and paddleboarding.
We joined in for a few of the games and had a lot of fun it was a great icebreaker for meeting the other guests. We also did a few of the activities that were not included in the all inclusive deal, such as riding horses on the beach. In my opinion, this was absolutely worth it as we were able to ride our horses through the surf and it was so exciting!
My only complaint when it comes to the entertainment is that they repeated some of the same activities within a one week period, such as trivia, golf putting and cornhole. However, this wasnt too much of a problem if you had already done that activity before you could just go for a swim on the beach or go for a hike to Pigeon Island instead.

If you are connecting, you will likely fly in with a regional carrier into the George F.L Charles Airport with airport code . The Hewanorra International Airport is a 1 and a half hour drive from the hotel, and the George F.L. Charles Airport is a 15-minute drive from the resort.

How Far Is Sandals Grande St Lucian From The Airport
When you look at a map, youll notice that the resort is in Gros Islet in the north of the island, and the Hewanorra International Airport in Vieux Fort is in the south of the island. So, how far is Sandals Grande St Lucian from the airport? It takes about two hours to drive from the airport to the resort. All of your airport transfers are included, and youll ride in a comfortable, air conditioned vehicle.
Even though it takes a little while to get from the airport to the resort, its a great opportunity to soak up scenery of the island. On our way to the resort, our driver stopped at a couple of scenic outlooks so we could enjoy sweeping vistas of St Lucia. It was a great introduction to the island and its beauty.

What Makes This Place Special
Sometimes, you dont realize how much you need a break until you get one. When Elliot and I arrived at the Sandals Grande Resort, we felt ourselves fully relax in a way that hadnt for quite a while. I felt the tension leaving my body as soon as I arrived.
This place takes away any stress that you could imagine, leaving nothing but pure relaxation. The only other guests were quiet and friendly couples just like us, so we could socialize if we wanted to but we could also have time for ourselves.
The butler service meant that we didnt have to think about anything. We didnt have to stock our own fridge or book our activities, we just had to let Giselle know and she would take care of it for us. This was important for Elliot and I, as we are used to high levels of responsibility in our daily jobs. It was incredible to let someone else take care of the details and to simply spend time enjoying ourselves.
Another aspect that makes this place amazing is the setting. It is surrounded by tranquil beaches with the most impossibly white sand that feels like powdered sugar under your feet. I loved watching the sunset over the water and waking up every morning to the sound of the birds. Some of the other guests complained that there were cats and birds around the property but thats not too big of a deal. After all, it is a tropical island!
However, the thing that really made this place special is the way it made me feel .
