Their elastic straps comfortably expand to fit wide feet!
Promising review: “I really love these. They’re very comfortable and look good with just about everything. I followed the advice in other reviews and got a size down as they do run big. I usually wear an 8.5 and got an 8. The 8 fit perfectly. As I have wide feet, I always have to worry about the front straps, but since in these it’s elastic it was no problem. How To Get Measured For A Wide Running Shoe
For a more precise fit, you have your foot measured with a Brannock device , says Dr. Cunha. He also suggests purchasing new footwear at the end of the day because this is when your feet are the most swollen, and if the shoe feels comfortable at the end of the day, itll more than likely feel comfortable throughout the day.
Your shoe size may vary depending on the material used and designs and your feet also change in size due to hormones and as you age, so Dr. Cunha recommends trying on at least three different pairs of running shoes. Try two different shoes at the same time, wearing one on each foot. The tip of your thumb should fit between the end of the shoe and the end of your longest toe, explains Dr. Cunha.
The toe box should also be wide enough to accommodate your toes comfortably, and you should have enough room to slightly wiggle your toes, he says. If you cant move your toes at all, then the shoes are too tight and will eventually become painful.
Finding the best pair of running shoes will require some testing, but with Dr. Cunhas tips, youre set up for success. Plus, he shared his go-to pairs of running shoes for wide feet to jumpstart your search.

If youre looking for the best womens dress shoes for wide feet, Ive found luck with many of the brands Ive already mentioned. This includes Rockport and Rockport Cobb Hill. Many have super cute wide width heels, too.

Top Choice: Nike Mc Trainer
When it comes to performance for lifting and HIIT sessions, its really hard to fault the $70 USD price point of the Nike MC Trainer. This shoe has steadily grown as one of my top budget-friendly training shoe picks.
Besides its price point, there are multiple characteristics to like about the Nike MC Trainer. For starters, this midsole in this model provides a nice blend of stability and versatility. You can train heavily in these shoes and use them for plyometrics and sprints without beating the feet up too much.
I also like the full rubber outsole for durability and multi-directional training. Unlike other budget-friendly training shoes that lack full rubber outsoles, this models tread does an exceptional job on different surfaces and prolongs the lifespan of this shoe.
- Best For: HIIT Workouts and Lifting
- Heel-to-Toe Drop: Likely 4mm

Additionally, their supportive footbed and cushy insole make it so you can wear them all day long without worrying about blisters or pinching. Theyre available in six colors and prints, ranging from black and olive green to blue tie-dye and leopard print.
Promising Review: Amazing shoes. I wear these every day to work. I am a former ballerina so my feet are pretty messed up and need lots of support and comfort. These are the best shoes I have found for that other than my orthopedic sneakers.
Cute Heels For Wide Feet: Clarks
While cute heels and comfort dont usually go together, this comfortable and cute wedge sandal from Clarks fits the bill. Clarks is known for its comfortable shoes, and the Reedly Salene is no exception. Made from perforated leather with a rubber sole, this cute platform sandal features Clarks Ortholite footbed, which is cushion soft.
We recommend wedges when traveling if you need a heel because they are more comfortable and stable than shoes with spiked heels. While you might not want to wear them all day sightseeing, they would be great when you need a dressy heel.

New Balance Fresh Foam 1080v12
> Daily Trainer
- Weighs 10.9 oz for a US M10 2E
Its not often I receive a pair of wide shoes in bright orange. By not often, I mean literally never. I love the wide, fun colorway, even though its throwing me for a loop. I dont usually look down while running and see such bright shoes.
The Hypoknit upper is comfortable and form-fitting. It has a ton of stretch, which allows it to conform to more foot shapes. I think the 2E width is excellent for the wide footers out there. My midfoot doesnt feel cramped, and the toebox has plenty of space. The issues I had with the v11 causing pain on the top of my foot from either the medial N overlay or lacing are gone. New Balance also went with a more traditional padded heel collar seen on the Vongo v5 instead of the previous iterations dreaded UltraHeel.
The Fresh Foam X midsole is pretty much unchanged, which means the cushioning is excellent. Its softer than the 880, but not to the level found in the More V3. As expected, I enjoyed my daily easy miles in the New Balance Fresh Foam 1080v12 and the shoe started to feel even smoother when I picked up the pace. If you dont care about weight, this is a do-it-all shoe.
The sizing seems to be off on this shoe. I got lucky and was sent a pair half size down, and it fits me perfectly. For reference and as far as I can tell, my US M10 2E 1080v12 is the same length as my 10.5 2E 1080v11 and 10.5 2E Vongo v5.
What Are Some Things To Look For When Choosing Sneakers For Women With Wide Feet
When choosing womens sneakers for wide feet, it is important to look for a pair that has a wide toe box. This will allow your toes to spread out and not be cramped inside the shoe. Additionally, youll want to make sure that the shoe has a good arch support to prevent your feet from rolling inward.

What To Look For In The Best Shoes For Wide Feet
Whether youre searching for the best running shoes, walking shoes, travel shoes, walking sandals or work shoes, trust what your body is telling you, rather than force your feet into footwear that doesnt fit.
Brands like New Balance, Naturalizer, Brooks and Vionic all offer lots of shoes in multiple widths, and some labels like Altra are specifically made with wider toe boxes, allowing toes to splay naturally. Choose wide, extra-wide or extra-extra-wide options depending on your foot measurement.
The width should be snug, but not tight, Pinker says.
Additionally, make sure there is 3/8 of an inch of space between your longest toe and the front of the shoe. The forefoot of a pair of shoes should have ample room for toes, Fishkin stresses. He advises to wiggle your toes when you try on shoes. If you can, thats a sign of proper fit. If your toes feel confined, move on. They shouldnt feel like theyre pinching or squeezing the feet adversely. And when it comes to open-toed styles, your feet shouldnt be hanging over the sides of the shoe, but rather cradled by the construction of the footwear, he adds.
Speaking of construction, Pinker also suggests looking for pairs with a stable shank, cushioned midsole and stable heel counter.

How Do I Know if I Have Wide Feet?
At some point in your life, you probably went to a shoe store where a salesperson used a metal slider to determine your shoe size .
But today, most of us buy shoes online based on whatever size weve always bought. So how are you supposed to know if you have wide feet?
One of the easiest ways is to use a smartphone app that scans your whole foot, maps your entire foot structure, collects data points at 13 locations, and gives you results in seconds.
You can also measure your feet with a tape measure , a pen, and two sheets of paper:
Once you have your measurement, compare it to an online chart to determine if your foot is narrow, regular, wide, or extra wide.
For example, if you wear a womens size 7 shoe, and your foot measures 3 716 at the widest part, you would wear a medium width shoe. If it measures 3 516, you would wear a narrow shoe, and if it measures 3 916, then you would wear a wide shoe.
Causes of Wide Feet
- Bunions: These uncomfortable, bony bumps develop when the big toe is forced to bend inward instead of pointing straight. Bunions may develop if you consistently wear the wrong size shoe or have a medical condition such as arthritis. Hammertoes and calluses are also toe conditions that may develop and require that you wear a wide shoe.
