How Do Veja Campo Sneakers Fit
I found Veja Campo sneakers run large and are on the wide side, so you may need to go down a European shoe size.
I highly recommend buying Vejas by European shoe size because they’re a French brand. Some of their international shoe size conversions are confusing e.g. Veja say both a 41 and 42 are 8 UK. Plus, other stores that use UK & US sizing can have their own custom conversions for added fun.
So I suggest you try Veja Campos sneakers in a size smaller than your usual European shoe size for the best fit.
Here’s Veja’s Campo size chart which includes length and width measurements for all sizes. It’s rare to get such detailed size information& it’s the best way to choose the right size. You can also contact Veja for advice on which size is right for you.
I’m usually size 43 eu , and sometimes larger in sneakers, but my Veja Campos are only size 42. On Veja’s size chart, the size 42 Campo insole length is 27.6 cm which is larger than usual.
When my size 42 online order arrived, I felt my big toe had a bit less wiggle room than usual. Vejas ain’t cheap & it’s rare for me to size down, so I went to a men’s shoe store to try my usual size 43 to be sure. As soon as I put the size 43 Campo on, it felt all wrong: way too big & clunky. I’m so glad I sized down, and it means my feet look smaller too which is always a good thing!
I wouldn’t recommend Campos for narrow feet though. Although the laces allow for an adjustable fit, the tennis shoe shape is fairly broad.

Veja Sneaker Style Comparison
Veja Campo Sneakers
What I would recommend as a first pair. Many people find the Campos to be the most comfortable Veja style due to the slightly higher footbed and more support they provide. I was really impressed by these out of the box and loved the soft pebbled leather, support and platform sole for a little boost.
Veja V-10 Sneakers
Their sportier, retro-inspired style. I first tried the V-10 a few years ago and found them to be very stiff and uncomfortable at the ankles, so at the time I chose the Esplar style instead .
I recently gave these another try and found them to be softer all around. The tongue and sides of the ankles DO come up higher, so as someone with low ankles, I needed to make a few adjustments for these to be comfy .
Veja Esplar Sneakers
These are one of Vejas original styles and my first pair. Theyre lower profile than the Campo and with a comparably lower platform. If I were to be making my first purchase now, I would probably choose the Campo for the thicker pebbled leather and higher platform.

Is The Long Tongue On Veja Sneakers A Problem
Veja Campo sneakers have an unusually long tongue& I saw complaints about the stiff tongue digging in pre purchase.I needn’t have worried though. I always wear socks with my Campos and never had any problems with the tongue. It’s lightly padded& I don’t feel it at all. It also stays in place even though I didn’t put the laces though the loop on the tongue.But I tried them briefly with very low invisible socks when I first got them & I noticed a from the top of the tongue afterwards. So I can see how this might cause discomfort with wear. A workaround I’ve seen is to push the tongue to the side initially until it softens up.
But once you’re wearing even thin socks that go up higher than the tongue, you should be fine.

The Styles + What I Own
While browsing, it became very clear that the most popular Veja styles are the Campo, Esplar and V-10, with the V-Lock getting an honorable mention. Just going off appearance, I was drawn to the Campo and V-10 styles, probably because those were the shoes my cool cousins were wearing and recommended. So I ordered those. I think all four styles, however, are fantastic choices. You really cant go wrong!
How Far Can You Walk In Veja Campos
I can walk around 3 miles in my Veja Campo sneakers before my feet start to niggle.
They are very comfy for shorter walks & are currently my go-to sneakers for daily errands and strolls. But if I’ll be on my feet all day or I’m going on a long weekend walk, I’ll wear sporty sneakers or my Skecher go-walks instead.
One thing to be aware of is that Veja Campo sneakers are not that lightweight. Each size 42 shoe weighs around 420g , whereas my similar Fitflop Rally sneakers are 60% lighter at just 255g each. While they feel substantial to hold, they don’t feel clunky or heavy on your feet though.
Finally, in hot weather they do start to feel a bit warm under my feet after a while, although they don’t get sweaty.

How To Clean Veja Leather Sneakers
My Veja Sneakers are leather, which makes them a lot easier to take care of than my canvas sneakers. I simply use a baby wipe or soft scrub to clean the leather, and then a stain-remover pen to clean the threading. The shoelaces are machine-washable just throw em in with some oxi and theyll come out looking new. My Campo sneakers do have some suede accents, and Ive yet to need to clean those because the suede is neutral and therefore dirt isnt too noticeable. But some basic suede cleaner should do the trick.
Final Verdict: Are Veja Campos Worth It
Overall I’m very pleased with my Veja Campo sneakers after 2 months. They look so pretty & it’s nice to be on trend for once. While they were an investment, I’ll get plenty of wear from these versatile sneakers. Plus I love Veja’s ethical ethos.Bottom line: these are super cute sneakers that look good with everything. They’re also surprisingly comfortable for fashion sneakers.But if you’re hitting the gym or on your feet all day, sporty sneakers or more supportive shoes are more suitable.I’ll update this post in the future to let you know how well my Vejas hold up long term. Veja Sizing Order In Your Eur Size Not Us Size
Ive heard many people say that Veja sizing runs large, but Ive found it really depends on wether youre ordering in US or EUR sizing. Most brands convert an EUR 35 to a US 5 on the inside label, but Veja converts a 35 to a US size 4, which I personally find to be inaccurate. So, if youre ordering on a site that uses EUR sizing, I would stick to your usual shoe size. I am usually a US size 5 to 5.5 in almost all brands, and I take a EUR 35 / US 4 in Veja sneakers .

Veja. Its a sustainable French sneaker brand that caught my attention this past fall when shopping for my five-year-old daughters back-to-school shoes. We were just looking for gold sneakers and ordered Vejas simply because they looked the nicest. And then they arrived, and Emma and I adored them. Fast forward a few weeks later, and my two cousins came to visit from New York Cityand both walked in the door wearing Vejas. While trying on new styles in their latest materials, I was pleased to find that they are more comfortable and softer right out of the box than the first pair I got in early 2020. What Are The Styles Of Veja Sneakers For Women
The brand focuses on low-top fashion sneakers and casual athletic shoes. The main styles are the Esplar, V-10, and the V-12.
