Taryn Rose Returns With New Comfort Fashion Shoe Lines
Two years after selling her original namesake company, Taryn Rose is back in full force. The orthopedist/shoe designer, who made her name crafting fashion-forward designs that are as comfortable as they are pretty, has debuted a luxury line that is available at Neiman Marcus, with new designs rolling out this fall. A less expensive division is featured on the Home Shopping Network. And with new partners the Schottenstein Group, Rose will have a midrange line available at stores including Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Macys next year.
When Taryn called and shared the good news that she was launching her new collection, we didnt hesitate to begin the collaboration, Butler says. Taryn knows our Neiman Marcus customer very well and understands that she has discerning taste and wants a beautiful fashion shoe that is unquestionably comfortable. The materials and details along with the comfort fit that Taryn put into the collection are really what makes them special. She is making a lot of her loyal customers very happy.
Haute Footure, exclusive to Neiman Marcus, ranges in price from $365 to $1,000 in stores and online. New fall styles will emerge through October.
On the other side of the affordability coin, Rose has been on the Home Shopping Network since May with a line called High Heel Power that includes footwear, handbags, leg wear and skin care for the feet.

Taryn Rose, an orthopedic surgeon, first launched a line of shoes in 1998. Within three years, Dr. Rose had created a successful business, which she sold several years later, but then relaunched her brand.

The shoes are a perfect neutral color for fall and they will do double duty as I travel the next few weeks. The top I found at a cool boutique in Mont Tremblant. I was on vacation covering the Blues Festival and I came across a great boutique called boutiquelaraffinerie.com/ .
I paired the top with crisp white jeans, my new flats and a great bracelet I got from the Zulily sale I did for Mother’s Day.
We shot the outfit in downtown Los Angeles. You might have caught the shoot I did on the rooftop of the Ace Hotel…well, we found some more inspiring spots like the streets that were MIGHTY empty at 9am on a Saturday.

8 Mile star Taryn Manning remembered her late friend and co-star Brittany Murphy ahead of the release of the HBO Max documentary What Happened, Brittany Murphy?

The premium line of the Italian-made shoes starts at $400 retail and reaches as much as $3,000 for product made of exotic skins. The average price point for the secondary line is about $245. Rose worked with design teams based in both the Culver City, Calif., headquarters and in Italy.

Today, Rose, 51, is back in the industry as creative consultant of the brand, which is now under the Global Brands Group umbrella. With the powerhouse company behind her, she can focus on the fashion side of the business she launched 20 years ago.
The first time around, if people didnt get paid, it was on me, said Rose, who started the business with money from credit cards, home equity loans and support from family and friends. I was exhausted after 10 years of nonstop designing, marketing and sales, and then coming home and being presented with bills we had to pay.
Rose grew up facing challenges. She emigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam with her family when she was 7, settling in Arkansas, where they were sponsored by a fellow doctor and his wife.
A gift for the sciences led her to medicine. However, during her residency her life changed course after completing a project on diabetic footwear. I how to design a better-looking diabetic shoe that would increase compliance, said Rose. The problem diabetics have is, they dont wear their shoes because theyre so ugly.
Instead of focusing on clinical footwear, Rose took her idea in a more fashionable direction. I took my knowledge of shoes and comfort, and put it into fashion, she said, describing her line that incorporates contoured footbeds and plenty of cushioning.
