Bobs Or Toms Shoes Quality
Bobs and Toms shoes are very similar in terms of looksboth include almost the same materials.
For the Bobs line, Skechers uses mostly canvas uppers, which gives the shoes a casual, lightweight look and feel. When it comes to the outsoles, it includes its Memory Foam footbeds that mold according to the wearers feet, creating customized support.
A prime example is the Skechers Bobs Womens Bobs Plush-Peace & Love shoe. Its lightweight and has a flexible rubber sole and memory foam footbed.
Are Bobs Good Shoes
Bobs shoes are receiving favorable feedback among consumers. The Memory Foam insoles work well at supporting the feet of the individual wearer. However, there isnt much arch support, so if thats a requirement for you, consider a different insert.
For the upper, the canvas is stretchy and may feel tight at first, but following a short break-in period, should improve.
Are You Supposed To Wear Socks With Toms
With any closed-toed shoes, its highly suggested to wear socks to avoid odors and potentially foot fungus. This includes Toms.
If you dont want them to be visible, you can wear no-show socks. These only cover your toes, heel and underside of your foot. If you still feel like theyre noticeable, try skin-colored nylon socks or stockings.
However, during the break-in period, wear thicker socks, such as crew types, to avoid painful blisters.

Toms Or Bobs For Wide Feet
Both Toms and Bobs run true to size and are available in medium width. Toms, however, suggest that you buy your regular size. It states that the shoes require a break-in period where the materials will stretch slightly and should suit your feet.
With that said, if you have very wide feet, you may want to consider buying half to one size up.

Way back when MMS and SMS were two different plans I had a Sprint employee tell me that they were the same thing. At least I think that was the scenario. It might’ve been an issue with a phone I had and I was looking for a new one with better mms functionality. Either way the dude told me MMS and SMS were the same. How do you work at a cell phone store and not know the difference between those two things?!

Bobs Or Tomslets Talk About Bobs Vs Toms
When Evan and I went in to the Skechers store to buy his crazy, flashy shoes, I was drawn to the wall of Skechers Bobs. They look really similar to Toms, also gives shoes to kids in need and were about $10 cheaper than Toms. I wasnt sure what the story was with Bobs vs Toms, though. It left me wondering Bobs or Tomswhat is the diffrence?
The shoe salesperson was standing next to me & I said You know, these are really cute but I could never buy them because they are such a blatant rip off of Toms. She said Oh nothats not right. You see, Skechers bought Toms but since theyre so big, they started a similar line for their stores called Bobs. I said So theyre the same company? She said Yep! Hmmm.so the same company instead of Bobs copying Toms? That made me feel better.
At that momentI should have listened to the little voice in my head that said Really? Are you sure? but I didnt. It never entered my head to think she was lying to me. So I bought them. They were cute & comfy and I was happy.
I read this tweet:
Bobs Vs Tomsthe Real Story
I started to answer back with the salespersons story & then I thoughtI better google that too make sure before I act like I know. After googling, I knew I had been had. I was NOT happy. I didnt like my cute little red canvas shoes any more. I know that many have a derogatory view of sales people but I dont. Ive worked in sales for years and you do NOT have to lie to make a sale. You just dont.
So yesterday we went back to the Skechers store to switch Evans shoes for a larger size. I also took in my pair of Bobs. I told the manager my story and asked for my money back. He was NOT happy with me. He basically used the We didnt rip off Toms, if that were the case everything in fashion is a rip off. Oh and weve given more shoes to charity than Toms. I calmly said While that may be true, your employee lied to me to make a sale. That is not cool. Whether she lied or was mis-informed I dont know. What I do know is people who work in retail should make sure they have their story straight or say I dont know.
Since I didnt have my receipt, I now have a store credit. Its not the best case scenario but it works for me. Now I will go buy my pair of Toms which I should have purchased in the first place.

Toms Vs Bobs Memory Foam
This is where well see a significant difference between the two. Toms shoes dont have a memory foam footbed, instead, most include an OrthoLite Insole. Its a specially formulated insert made from recycled rubber, providing support for different needs.
Bobs, however, come with Skechers Memory Foam insoles. These are exclusively designed inserts, providing plush cushioning, which effectively comforts and offers foot pain relief. Its ideal for relieving pressure on your feet as you walk, by conforming to your feet.
Toms Vs Bobs: How Skechers Shot Themselves In The Foot
This week Skechers copied the concept behind for TOMS shoes by launching BOBS . Just like TOMS, when you buy a pair of BOBS, Skechers would donate another pair to a child in need. Even the shoes were the same. And their name had a similar short, familiar feel. In doing so, they set themselves up for online ridicule, but also drew a powerful distinction between those that do good because of the meaning behind it and those that do it simply for marketing purposes.
Obviously the concept of giving a pair of shoes away has proven effective marketing for TOMS shoes and its founder, Blake Mycoskie. But what drove TOMs success is not the howthe giving away of shoesbut the why behind it. As the company website explains, the TOMS concept emerged after a powerful and authentic experienceMycoskies travels in Argentina during which he saw and met countless barefoot children. That powerful direct experience inspired a desire to do good. So Blake and his team took a financial risk by betting their business and philanthropic success on an untested and generous buisness model.
Skechers approach appears to be far more cynical. There is no problem with Skechers or any company copying the TOMS concept. In fact, Blake Mycoskie has stated that he hoped others would copy his business model. But by mirroring the TOMs concept so blatantly, Skechers not only showed a lack of creativity and originality, but they left themselves wide open to accusations of disingenuous social concern.

TOMS Shoes and BOBS Shoes
One of my readers recently saw some shoes in a mall store that looked awfully familiar to TOMS shoes. Upon further inspection, these were BOBS shoes, made by Skechers. Who are TOM and BOB, and whats the story with their similar lines of casual footwear?
Many readers will be familiar with TOMS Shoes. TOMS is know for producing espadrilles a casual Spanish/Argentine style of shoe with a rope or rubber sole and canvas or cotton on top and for giving a new pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair they sell. TOMS has won a pile of awards since their founding in 2006, and TOMS founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie spoke at the 2009 TED conference.
Skechers, founded in 1990, is a manufacturer and retailer of casual shoes, sneakers, sandals, and boots. They are known for their celebrity-based advertising campaigns.
In 2010, Skechers copied essentially the entire concept behind TOMS and launched BOBS Shoes by SKECHERS. They are producing similar shoes, with the brand name BOBS . They also promise to give away one pair of new shoes for every pair that is purchased.
BOBS versus TOMS
Commemorators immediately noticed the similarity, and began to take Skechers to task. , reiterating that there is no connection between TOMS and BOBS, and asking why Skechers chose to use an imitation of the TOMS design for their charitable efforts. Dont they have a ton of shoe designs?
At least they acknowledge that t isnt a new idea.
Did Bobs Imitate Toms
Its no secret that the resemblance between Toms and Bobs is undeniable, both in the style and concept. So, did Skechers blatantly imitate Toms?
Sort of. Toms marketing strategy of donating a pair of shoes with every pair sold proved to be quite successful. In the short time that the company has been around, it gained tremendous success. So, it only makes sense that other companies would follow.
Toms creator, Blake Mycoskie, even stated that he wishes others would copy his concept. But, what made his idea so successful was the reason behind it. It wasnt merely a strategy to sell more shoesit was a solution to help children and communities in need. And, its not just footwear.
Through Toms collections of bags, donations are given to train birth attendants and provide them with birthing kits for safe deliveries. The line of eyewear has helped over 600,000 people since 2011. And lastly, Toms Roasting Company helped provide clean water for over 600,000 weeks so far.
Many consumers opinions feel Skechers had a different approach. Instead of taking the concept and turning it into its own, it mirrored Toms idea, showing a lack of creativity and originality. When looking at the shoes side-by-side, theres little to no difference, except for the logo.

How Can You Tell If Toms Are Fake
Fake Toms shoes are everywhere. To spot whether theyre original or not, inspect the following areas:
- Check where its made. If its anywhere other than China, Ethiopia, Argentina, Kenya or India, its fake.
- Find the One for One label. This should be included on the insole, where your heel sits.
- Ensure that the interior lining has stripes or animal prints. If its plain or any other pattern, its not the genuine article.

What Does The W Mean On Toms Shoes
In Toms shoes, theres generally a letter next to a number on the insole. The figure shows the size, but the letter indicates which size group it belongs to.
This is quite confusing, seeing that, usually, W stands for Wide size. However, Toms shoes are only available in medium width, so if you notice a W, know that it indicates a womans size. Youll also see M for men and Y or T for children.
Who Makes Toms Shoes
Toms was founded by Blake Mycoskie back in 2006 following his travels to Argentina the same year. While away, he witnessed many children who didnt own a pair of shoes and the hardships that they faced.
This sparked his desire to help through the creation of his company Toms Shoes. The concept would be, that for every pair of shoes sold, the firm would match it with a new pair for children in need.
With his simple idea, the company evolved into an influential business model. It continues working to address the need for health, education and economic opportunities for children and communities across the globe.
Today, Toms Shoes claims to donate to over 70 countries. So far, its estimated to have gifted over 60 million pairs of shoes.
