Foot Locker Unveils New App Launch Reservation Procedure
Foot Locker Inc. unveiled a new launch procedure today. Like the Nike SNKRS App, and Nikes raffle release system, The Draw, the new Foot Locker release procedure will take place within an application on a smart device.
The new launch procedure will save customers the time of having to go to the store early in the week before a release, and only make them go to the store on release day when it is time to purchase their pair. As the release date for the next pair of shoes you want to grab approaches, simply search the shoes in the app and click on Release Procedures.
There are three types of launch procedures: First Come, First Serve, Sweepstakes aka Raffles, or the newest, App Launch Reservation. If there is the option for App Launch Reservation at your desired location, you may then select your desired size to purchase. You may then apply Head Starts, such as being a VIP Member, a Platinum VIP member, or checking in at the store. Once your countdown clock hits zero, you may then see the outcome of your App Launch Reservation. Upon confirmation, you head to the store assigned to pick up your pair of shoes, on release day, in the size requested. In store, you must present the unique code given to you in the app confirmation.

The only things between you and the hottest sneaker release are starting to become nothing more than just apps. Recently, Foot Locker released an update called Launch Locator to its mobile app that allows you to reserve upcoming sneaker releases from your phone without waiting in line.
With the Launch Locator, you can pick what select shoe releases you want to reserve, find stores near you, and follow the stores specific reservation procedure before selecting your shoe size and completing your reservation. You can check the My Countdowns section of the app to see how long it will be until you can waltz into your local Foot Locker and pick up your new kicks. You must show photo ID and the app confirmation page on your device when picking up the reserved shoes.
The app will benefit some Foot Locker customers more than others. Certain customers who sign up for Foot Lockers VIP membership will get access to a Head Start, which gives them a chance to reserve select sneakers slightly early. VIP members will be eligible for a three-minute Head Start, with Platinum VIP members receiving a five-minute advance. VIP membership is free to sign up for online or at a Foot Locker store, but to be upgraded to Platinum VIP, you must have spent $300 in a year.

The two competing retailers have each introduced new release methods intended to make purchasing sneakers easier for the average person and block out the bots resellers use in order to take advantage of the system.
Today, Finish Line launches an âExclusive Accessâ model similar to the one Nike introduced for its Off-White âThe 50â Dunk Low collection. I wish they could read the feedbacks to know how to improve the app because right now its not the best. Most of the time when i press on a shoe for men or women it says that its no longer available like what is available in this app barely nothing. Multiple time when i tried to go on the app and order it said that the product is unavailable and i have to go the store every time and they dont have it either. Im not saying that it is you guys fault if there is barely any shoes that can be ordered on the app because they are never available, Im just saying that it would be nice if I could order at least one shoes that interest me on the app or that the app could be more functional and less glitchy. Mainly I wish that the various bugs on the app could be fixed.

Foot Lockers new system comes at an opportune time. Supply chain disruptions are making product shortages more likely, which means demand will outweigh supply even more than usual. This means that bots pose an even greater threat to consumers this year.

Bots aside, Foot Locker has also not been immune to the slew of supply chain problems plaguing the footwear and retail industries. But Berger is still optimistic about being able to meet consumer demand and expectations this season.
I feel really good that well have strong product thats in demand, Berger said. If a launch does need to be delayed, Foot Lockers goal is to communicate that to the consumer as quickly and clearly as possible.
