COVID-19 restrictions at Sandals South Coast
Before arriving to Sandals South Coast we did have to get tested for COVID-19 within ten days of our arrival and we had to apply for travel authorization. Upon landing in Montego Bay, we had our temperatures checked and we kept our masks on while inside the airport and on transportation to and from the resort. Once at the resort we were free to take off our masks and the only other time we had to mask up was during our spa treatment.
The staff wore masks at all times, there were hand sanitizing stations outside of every restaurant as well as right inside the door, outside the shops, inside the Club lounge, inside and outside the gym, and inside the spa reception area. We constantly saw staff members sanitizing door handles, rails going into the pools, chairs, and so on. They took the cleanliness and sanitization of the resort very seriously.
When it came to dining, there was always plenty of space between tables and many of the restaurants offer outdoor seating. The only place we noticed it getting crowded and people abandoning the six feet apart rule was at the bars.
We felt very safe without masks as the staff was good about theirs and it was a comfort knowing everyone had to be tested and show proof of a negative test before even being allowed to board a plane to Jamaica.

About two hours from the airport in Montego Bay, Sandals South Coast is located in a natural wildlife preserve, right along a long stretch of private beach. While the drive through the hills takes some narrow roads and can be a bit unnerving, the result is a resort thats extremely secluded and private, with no noise from nearby buildings or towns. The evening entertainment seems to vary greatly across different Sandals resorts, but at Sandals South Coast, they offered a nightly show.
Some resorts are quieter and offer shows only occasionally, but there was something to see here every night. There were also things like the chocolate buffet, international night and other traditions that are popular across the Sandals brand.
Pamper Yourself At Sandals South Coast Jamaica
Everything comes with your Sandals Resorts stay, including your food, activities, and tips, but sometimes you need some extra indulgence. We received an incredible day of pampering with upgrades at the resort to celebrate our recent engagement. We indulged in a couples massage at Red Lane Spa and let our worries melt away. Our masseuses made us feel incredibly comfortable in our beachfront setting and helped us in and out of our beds with ease. You receive two complimentary aromatherapy candles to take home that burn during your session. It was a treat to light them once we returned home and have the smell take us back to those relaxing spa moments.
After we let our worries melt away we kicked our tummies into high gear as we walked to the beach to enjoy a private romantic dinner. We made all of our course selections the day prior and looked forward to our intimate oceanside dining experience. The privacy of our Romantic Dinner location was incredible and far from other rooms. Our waiter made sure to both give us privacy and keep our glasses full.

The Activities Are All Included
Sandals South Coast and Sandals Ochi are the only two stand-alone resorts on the island, which means that they do not connect with other Sandals or Beaches properties.
As a result, they tend to offer ALL of the activities in one location. WIN!
The activities are what made Sandals South Coast the right resort for us. They have their own dive boat, glass-bottom boat for tours and snorkeling, and my personal favourite: a Mastercraft direct-drive ski boat.
This bad boy was powerful enough to pull even heavy ol me out of the water and I may have gone waterskiing EVERY DAY I was so thrilled.
One of the reasons we continue to return to Sandals Resorts is the quality of the activities. You can go kayaking, paddle boarding, wake boarding, water skiing and snorkeling. We went tubing and sailing DAILY, sometimes multiple times a day.
Everyone enjoys something to do sometimes, which is one of the reasons that Sandals is so successful. Offering activities free of charge makes a world of a difference in keeping guests happy.
