Sandals Compared To Other Resorts Is It Worth It

Looking for an adults only get away this December. My wife and I would like to try Sandals but weve also found other highly rated resorts, specifically looking at Jewel Dunns River or Sandals Royal Carribean. Definitely going for an ocean view room on both properties. Ive found that all said and done sandals will cost me about $1500 more over the Jewel. Is sandals level of service, beaches etc. worth the extra $1500?

I think some things appeal to me about sandals, specifically going to their private island, being able to visit the Montego Bay sandals, much closer to the airport than JDR. However there seems some notable things about JDR too such as a few included excursions, and the fact that it was also once a sandals. In the end I probably would say I could go to either resort and not regret it. Just wondering what does sandals offer above and beyond other all inclusive resorts such as JDR that justify higher prices.

We used to be big Sandals folks and now, not. We found that their prices have gotten crazy and that they treat their guests based on the category of room they book. They do offer several included inclusions that most others don’t, but, unless you are going to be super busy and take advantage of every single one, the price doesn’t justify using just one or two – you can book these things separately and save a lot of money.
