The only trial happening is the aforementioned fictional one, which is also, in standard Lil Nas practice, promotional: tomorrow, on July 23, the musician is dropping a new single titled Industry Baby, which he has already anointed as MY NEW SMASH HIT via his Twitter bio. The full-length music video for the track, which will feature Jack Harlow and was co-produced by Take a Daytrip and a supposedly album-ready Kanye West, will apparently take place months after the events in the trolling promo clip.

Nike Files Lawsuit Against Mschf
Following the release of Satan shoes on March 29th, Nike filed a lawsuit against MSCHF.
The defendant mentioned in the lawsuit is MSCHF Product Studio Inc, the company that collaborated with Lil Nas X on the customised shoes. The rapper is not named as a defendant in the suit.
Nike told EW in a statement: We dont have any further details to share on pending legal matters. However, we can tell you we do not have a relationship with Lil Nas X or MSCHF.
The Satan Shoes were produced without Nikes approval or authorization, and Nike is in no way connected with this project.

Who bought Lil Nas X $1,000 ‘Satan shoe’?
Nike says the art collective which made “Satan Shoes” that purportedly contain a drop of human blood in the soles has agreed to issue a voluntary recall as part of a legal settlement.
The $1,018 trainers are modified Nike Air Max 97s. Only 666 pairs were made and all but one have been shipped.
The collective MSCHF will offer full refunds to customers in order to remove the shoes from circulation, Nike said.
The settlement resolves a trademark infringement lawsuit filed by Nike.
The controversial shoes were produced by the Brooklyn collective in collaboration with rapper Lil Nas X, who held the last pair so he could choose the recipient. MSCHF said it would keep the final pair of shoes.
No further details were made public about the settlement, which includes the Jesus Shoes produced by MSCHF in 2019 also using the Air Max 97 as a base.
“MSCHF altered these shoes without Nike’s authorisation. Nike had nothing to do with the Satan Shoes or the Jesus Shoes,” Nike said in a statement.
Limited edition shoes can fetch higher prices among collectors so it is not clear how many – if any – customers will return the products.
Nike sued MSCHF last week claiming the “Satan Shoes likely to cause confusion and dilution and create an erroneous association” between MSCHF’s products and the company. But MSCHF said the shoes were “individually-numbered works of art” and did not sow confusion.

The so-called “Satan shoes” which allegedly contained a drop of human blood are to be recalled following a lawsuit from Nike.
Lil Nas X, a rapper, helped launch the shoes, which were based on the Nike Air Max 97.
Nike had filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against MSCHF Product Studio, the sellers of the footwear.
As part of the settlement, the shoes will be recalled and buyers will be refunded by MSCHF “to remove them from circulation”.
Only 666 pairs were made, and they sold for $1,018 a set.
The black and red trainers also had the words “Luke 10:18” printed on them – a reference to a Biblical verse that alludes to Satan’s fall from heaven.

But in a court document related to the court complaint explained below, the company said it had suspended plans to give away that final pair pending resolution of the Nike situation.
And now, the settlement means even those who already snagged a pair of the rare kicks are being offered a full refund.

Originally teased by MSCHF on March 27, 2021, following the release of Lil Nas X’s music video for “MONTERO,” the MSCHF custom sneakers basically broke the internet. The company promised 666 individually numbered pairs, each bearing a sole that contains ink and one drop of human blood.
After some fans raised questions over where the mystery blood originated, MSCHF specified to NBC who the single drop in each shoe was drawn from. Although early rumors insinuated that the blood was from Lil Nas X himself, that isn’t the case. The brand claimed that various members of the MSCHF team donated a drop of their own blood to be put in each pair made.

Is Lil Nas X Going To Jail
The rapper had initially claimed he had a court date for July 19, 2021.
He then posted a series of joke videos on TikTok mocking his ”court appearance.”
Lil Nas X shared a video with a caption: When you have court on Monday over the Satan Shoes and might go to jail but your label tells you to keep making TikToks.
In an Instagram Live video, the rapper told his fans that he would be appearing in court at 8am on Monday, Los Angeles time.
He wrote: “all jokes aside i cant believe i might be going to jail. whos going to make mildly funny tweets about being gay while im away.”
The rapper uploaded a two-minute long video to social media showing a title slate that read: “NIKE v. LIL NAS X. SUPREME COURT. JULY 19, 2021.”
The footage turned out to be a trailer for a new music video for his new Kanye West-produced single, Industry Baby.
