Hoka One One Clifton 7 Upper

Running Shoe Sizing – Why do Nike, adidas, ASICS, New Balance, Brooks, HOKA, On, Saucony all differ?

The Clifton 7 upper was updated with the latest version of this shoe. The main updates to the shoe include a redesigned upper that improves breathability, while a gusset connection on the tongue helps keep everything in place and improves the overall experience when you dont have to worry about the tongue moving.

The seamless construction includes a 3D puff print frame and overlays making this shoe contour to your feet better for increased comfort.

The Clifton 7 continues to have a slightly wider toe box, which is something I really need.

Here are a few pictures of the upper portion of the Hoka Clifton 7.

Who Is Hoka For

Hoka produces footwear for men and women of all ages with all kinds of lifestyles, as seen in our Hoka shoes review product list.

The brand is well-known for their affiliation with several athletes, but they also bear seals of approval from several podiatrists and podiatric associations, making them popular among those who require orthopedics to help them with various foot-related ailments.

Do Hokas Help Back Pain

When it comes to back pain resulting from your runs, the culprit is usually a shoe that doesnt have enough cushioning or support.

Hokas running shoes are specifically designed to provide runners with optimal cushioning, stability, and support in order to make them perform better and more painlessly.

Is Hoka Clifton 8 Good For Running

Hoka has built itself an excellent reputation as makers of shoes that are extremely comfortable and reliable for all activities, especially running! The Clifton shoes are made for runners. With the signature HOKA extended heel crash pad and extremely light compression-molded midsole, these shoes will give you more comfort than youve likely ever had on your run.

Do Hokas Come In Wide Width

Hoka Challenger ATR 2

Hoka One One shoes, which were initially created for super-distance runners, inspire a constant, effective, and percussive foot strike. In addition, the midsoles distinctive thick, broad, and molded design offers superior padding and shock absorption while maintaining lightweight.

In addition, Hoka shoes are suitable for significant trail runners, casual and elite road runners, and enjoyable hikers alike, with models focusing on runners with specific requirements and demands. In fact, Hoka also offers wide-fit shoes that are available in womens sizes D and mens sizes 2E.

Hoka Bondi 7 Ride And Performance

Runners, walkers and workers who desire softness above all else will love the cushiness of Bondi 7.

The big stack of foam beneath the shoe is not only the biggest in a HOKA shoe, its one of the biggest in the running industry, and it delivers one of the softest rides around. Testers say the Bondi 7 is unlike any other shoe on the market.

Its so soft, one tester says. I really feel the foam compressing under my feet when I land, but it rebounds quickly enough that it doesnt feel mushy.

Make no mistake, though: The Bondi is a soft running shoe. The foam in the Bondi isn’t like the foams used in the HOKA Rincon or new HOKA Clifton Edge, which are lighter and firmer.

Few, if any, running shoes match the amount of cushion and the softness of the Bondi.

Because of the impressive stack height, the Bondi also feels like youre riding higher than in other shoes. It adds noticeable height, which might take a few strides to get used to for runners who have never run in the Bondi before.

HOKA also gave the shoe a slightly beveled heel. If you set the shoe on a table in front of you, youll see a little bit of space between the edge of the heel and the table. That bevel is meant to create a smoother transition. Fleet Feet testers couldnt attribute any sensation directly to the heel bevel, but they say it does roll smoothly through the entire transition.

Sooo the idea of some extra cushion and a little more support sounded like a good thing, but would I really like them?

Do Skechers Shoes Run True To Size

If youre on your feet a lot, chances are youve already heard about Skechers. These shoes are incredibly popular because they are so comfortable, stylish, and fun. Its a favorite footwear brand among most sneakerheads and boasts excellent customer support. The comfort factor is high enough to ensure a perfect fit and superb comfort.

With all that adoration for the brand, we thought you might want a little more about them. So whether youre pondering how to choose, or you want to know if Skechers runs true to size, here is a rundown to Skechers shoes.

Hoka One One Bondi X First Impressions

picture of HOKA ONE ONE Bondi X

When I first saw pictures of the Bondi X, I was both surprised and confused. To me, it didnt make sense to have a carbon plate in a max-cushioned trainer which is designed for slow, easy runs.

It would be the equivalent of Nike putting a carbon plate in the Invincible Run, Brooks putting a carbon plate in the Glycerin, or Saucony putting a carbon plate in the Triumph.

Opening the large box, I was bowled over with how oversized the midsole of the Bondi X was. According to the print on the medial side of the midsole, the volume of the midsole is 884, much more than the Carbon X 2s 728.

picture of HOKA ONE ONE Bondi X

I tried to flex the midsole with my hands but it was extremely stiff. The plate in the Bondi X is the second carbon plate iteration and is different to the plate in the Carbon X 2 and the Rocket X .

Putting the shoe on for the first time and walking around the living room, I was relieved that there was no poking arch sensation like in the Bondi 7. It felt much more comfortable.

My first run was a 7 km easy run and it took some time to break-in the Bondi X. In the first couple of kilometres, the shoe felt awkward and blocky but by the end of the run, the midsole had softened up, the plate had become more malleable and the forefoot had gained a little more flexibility.

Hoka Reviews: What Do Customers Think

No Hoka shoes review would be complete without taking a look at what customers had to say about their experiences with the brands products. Weve looked at the tech, weve seen that theyre doctor approved, but how do they shape up in the real world?

Well take a look at the brands website first, and follow it up with some external takes from the likes of TrustPilot and SiteJabber. Lets dive right in.

To no ones surprise, individual product reviews on hoka.com are absolutely glowing. For example, the mens Hoka Clifton 8 boasts a very impressive score of 4.5/5 stars out of 332 ratings. Many of the happy comments sound a little bit like this:

The shoes themselves are great. True to size, although they do seem a tad narrow for a wide size Definitely a shoe for a neutral arch. The shoes themselves feel like good construction so far, and they do seem to have a good amount of shock absorption and rebound.. Would definitely recommend!

Our Hoka shoes review found that other products are also well-received on their website:

  • Mens Bondi 6: 4.6/5 stars out of 1,810 ratings
  • Mens Bondi 7: 4.5/5 stars out of 2,808 ratings
  • Womens Rincon: 4.4/5 stars out of 249 ratings
  • Womens Mach 4: 4.6/5 stars out of 256 ratings

Its all looking great so far. Across the board, each of the brands shoes is a hit. But how does Hoka fare on external review sites?

Moving forward, we were disappointed to see an even lower rating of 1.7/5 stars out of 39 reviews on SiteJabber.

What Size Hoka Should I Buy

Asics Novablast 2 VS Hoka Mach 4 | Running Shoe Battle | Who Will Be The Winner?

Hoka One One excels in running shoes and, as a result, has a more comprehensive approach to shoe sizing in general.

Because running shoes demand more toe room, you might have to go half a size to a full-size rise from your normal casual shoe size.

But it is conditional. If you have a good fit in a pair of New Balance, Asics, or Brooks running shoes, simply opt for the same size in Hoka running shoes. In this situation, Hoka shoes will generally fit true to size.

How Do You Know If Your Running Shoes Fit

A properly fitting running shoe should feel snug in the heel and midfoot, with wiggle room around the toes. While standing, check for proper length and width by pressing your thumb down next to the ball of your foot and around the toes. A good fit should allow for half to a full thumbs width of space.

Hoka One One Clifton 7 Sole

The Hoka One One Clifton 7 midsole was unchanged with this version.

The sole continues to be flexible and adapts better to the surface you are running on. If you havent worn Hokas or Cliftons before, you will appreciate the support and cushion that these shoes have, all at 8.7oz.

The sole continues to have the Early Meta-Rocker technology, which supports and promotes a more efficient running form, something I wish more shoes had.

Below are a few pictures of the Clifton 7 sole.

Is Hoka Worth It

The brand has great reviews on their actual products, but poor reviews on customer service practices. With that in mind, it might be better to buy the shoes from an in-person retailer than through the site itself.

Fortunately, some customers say that they had no problem on-site and in-person, and thats something that this Hoka shoes review can get behind.

When it comes to the merits of the actual shoes, there are so many to take into account. According to the breakdown of the technologies in each Hoka shoe, they provide a ton of support for individuals with any orthopedic history to enjoy any kind of activity.

At the end of the day, Hoka is an easy brand to recommend and we deem them to be worth the buy.

Hoka One One Bondi X Conclusion

picture of HOKA ONE ONE Bondi X

The Bondi X is an unlikely combination of components with its oversized, max-cushioned midsole and its stiff carbon plate. On paper, it doesnt sound like a winning combination but in reality, the Bondi X feels like a surprisingly cohesive and polished experimental shoe.

In my opinion, the Bondi X is a much better shoe than the Bondi 7. Its wider, more comfortable, softer and it feels more versatile. Its also lighter and a lot more fun to run in because it doesnt have the Hoka bucket seat that pokes into your arch.

If money wasnt an issue, Id pick the Bondi X over the Bondi 7 any day of the week but at $200, its extremely expensive for an easy day/recovery shoe. The Carbon X 2 and the Rocket X are much lighter, cheaper, and more versatile than the Bondi X. You can train and race in both of them.

The Bondi X is a fun shoe but it doesnt make it into my shoe rotation. On easy/recovery days, I want to run slowly so I dont need a carbon plate. For steady or tempo runs, there are much better options that are lighter and more propulsive than the Bondi X.

The Bondi X is however a uniquely plush, luxury cruiser with a lively toe-off that will appeal to certain runners.

Printed on the insole of the Bondi X is the tagline EVERYONE CAN LEVEL UP. That sums up the Bondi X. Its a carbon-plated shoe for runners who dont like the usual instability, harshness, and awkwardness that normally comes with running in carbon-plated shoes.
