Sandals Resorts International has followed up on their successful launch last year of five overwater bungalows at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica with nine overwater bungalows at Sandals Grande St. Lucian. These overwater bungalows introduced to the Caribbean region by Sandals Resorts after decades of popularity in the South Pacific are proving hugely popular with couples on honeymoon or a romantic vacation. In fact, the five overwater bungalows at Sandals Royal Caribbean along with the nine ones newly launched at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian are booked out a year in advance so couples need to lock down their reservation early.
Taking inspiration from the Tahitian-style bungalows, these nine overwater bungalows at Sandals Grande St. Lucian are all designed with hardwood floors and vaulted ceiling. They also include:

Sandals Exchange Program: Stay At One Play At Three
Why hang out at one resort when you can spend time at three? While this Sandals Grande St Lucian review focuses mainly on the resort I slept at, you could easily spend a week exploring all three Sandals Resorts in the country. In Saint Lucia, there are three Sandals Resorts: Sandals Grande St Lucian in Gros-Islet, Sandals Halcyon Beach in Castries, and Sandals Regency La Toc in Castries. Located 90 minutes away from the airport on the isolated Jamaican southern shore, Sandals South Coast is worth the drive for anyone that enjoys being active outdoors. The resort’s major strengths are its broad span of secluded beach stretching over 2 miles, vast and attractive pools, a modern luxury design, and excellent service and dining. You will love the incredible variety of outdoor adventures. You can plan on spending your day snorkeling, sailing, hiking, kayaking, riding water bikes, and diving. It is also the only resort to offer ocean views from every suite.

Food Facilities & Things To Do:
Sandals Grande St. Lucian has twelve restaurants and bars which include a British style pub and a very lively swim-up pool bar. Check them all out here. The quality of the food and drink is impressive and there is daily and nightly entertainment around the resort.
It being a Sandals they have their Red Lane spa facilities at guests disposal, a fitness center, giant swimming pool and a mile of pristine sand beach.
You can also enjoy many complimentary water-sports such as scuba diving, water skiing, snorkeling, wake boarding and wind surfing, as well as on-dry-land activities such as beach volleyball, tennis, bocce ball, mini golf, croquet, yoga etc. etc.
Grande St Lucian guests also free access to the facilities Sandals Regency La Toc and Sandals Halcyon Beach, the former having a golf course.

According to the Sandals website as of Feb 11th 2017 the rooms will sell for $965 pp/pn . That brings the total for a 7 night stay to $15,069.00. One reason that the St. Lucia overwater bungalows are so widely anticipated is that they will be the first honeymoon style overwater rooms in all of the Caribbean. In fact, they sound like they are going to be super deluxe, at 1,200 square feet and including a private butler and separate living room. Look for room rates of around US$1,000 per night and up during high season, just as an off-hand guess at this point.

While I didnt stay in one of the over-the-water bungalows, I had the opportunity to take a sneak peek inside one of them. Im happy to include this small glimpse into these luxurious suites in my Sandals Grande St Lucian review. There are a limited amount of bungalows at Sandals Grande St Lucian, and they book up very far ahead of time. You might even need to reserve them a year ahead of time, especially if youre looking for specific dates.

These dreamy overwater huts offer an intimate and memorable experience for you and your partner. Sandals To Open St Lucia Overwater Bungalows
Sandals is expanding its already-popular overwater bungalows in the Caribbean.
The company, which debuted its first overwater villas in Montego Bay, Jamaica earlier this year, as announced nine new over the water honeymoon butler bungalows set to open at its Sandals Grande St Lucian property in St. Lucia.
The nine new units are now available for bookings for travel beginning in May, the company said in a statement.
The new bungalows have glass-floor panels, a private outdoor tranquility soaking tub for two, a king-sized bed and overwater hammocks.
The bungalows bathrooms have his and hers sinks, a large backlit mirror with mosaic tile and a walk-in rain shower.
Each bungalow also has a private patio with a sun deck, outdoor shower, sun loungers and a bistro set.
SandalsButler Elite service and 24-hour room service are included with each room.
