Sportswear giant Nike is to donate 32,500 pairs of its Air Zoom Pulse shoe, thats been specifically designed for medical personnel, to frontline healthcare workers combating COVID-19 around the world.
Nike will partner with nonprofit organization Good360 in the US and local organizations across Europe to so that staff in hospitals in Barcelona, Chicago, Laakdal, London, Los Angeles, Memphis, Milan, New York City and Paris will receive a pair, which normally retail at around $120.
The shoe launched late last year and was designed to meet the needs of healthcare and medical professionals who, as Nike quite rightly points out, have very physically demanding jobs and have to spend hours at a time on their feet.

Product testing and medical-worker insights took place at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital located in Portland, Oregon. During the sessions, designers learned the rigors of these health-care workers’ day-to-day efforts. Nurses, for example, walk approximately four to five miles and sit for less than an hour during the course of a 12-hour shift. The work is physically and mentally demanding.

Nike officials add the company will also come through with over 95,000 pairs of comfy soccer socks for the workers as well.
Of course, all of this is in addition to the thousands of protective masks Nike made and donated last month.
