When it comes to comfort and performance of the M.Gemi shoes, I was pleasantly surprised. As someone who typically buys second hand footwear, this was a huge splurge for me. But, Im really glad I made the choice to give them a try.

I decided to go with the most popular M.Gemi Felize Black Suede and wait 7 business days to receive them. The packaging they came in was fairly minimal and easy to open. I was really excited to try them on as soon as I took them out of the package.

The first thing I noticed were the little rubber grips on the bottom and back of the shoe. I figured these would make the shoe less stable for me, but it was quite the opposite. They appeared to assist with my stability and added some additional comfort to the shoe.

I was also concerned about the initial breaking in period that usually comes with all shoes. So I was really surprised to not have any of that at all with these shoes. That has never happened to me with any shoes before!

I only noticed a couple of things that I wasnt so sure of to begin with. At first my new M.Gemi shoes squeaked when I walked around. But I had chosen not to wear socks with them initially. As soon as I put on a pair of no show socks, the squeak went away.

I also noticed that the shoes got dirtier than I anticipated. But this was probably due to the fact that I chose the M.Gemi Felizee in black suede. Cleaning them was very quick and simple with a dry cloth though.

My Thoughts Overall On Mgemi

What I Like

• Both loafers can be worn sockless, and the Sacca practically begs for the sockless look.

• The suede is top-quality on both the Sacca and Fuggire. No stubborn blemishes and a very nice texture on the inside of the shoe.

• Fit and comfort straight out of the box. There was no break-in period. No back-and-forth return game. Just great fitting shoes and boots that are comfortable right away.

• M.Gemi has an excellent array of seasonal colors to bolster out their more classic collection.

What I Dont Like

• These arent rugged shoes, so its best to rotate them into your wardrobe two or three times a week to help keep their lifespan.

Who is M.Gemi for?

M.Gemi is an excellent choice for the guy whos wants fine Italian footwear while staying under $500. Its not always easy to find that combo, but there are few brands that really embrace the slim Italian silhouette as well as M.Gemi, and do so without an astronomical cost.

Like I mentioned above, Ive tried just about every white sneaker on the market. Keds, Vans, Converse, you name it. I bring them to Europe and by end of day my foot is throbbing and theres no chance I can manage wearing them again the following day. Fashionable walking shoes sure are hard to find! But with the Palestra sneaker its a whole different story. It really is the most stylish walking shoes for travel.

The walkability description on M. Gemis site is never take them off and it really is true. You can wear them all day everyday and your foot will never tire of them. This is the only shoe Ive had that experience with. They dont even require breaking in!

The last thing you want while traveling is for your feet to hurt in every shoe you packed. Ive been there and the end result was a lot of wasted time and money spent shopping for new shoes. With these that will never be an issue, I can almost guarantee it!

The Palestra sneaker is handmade so they are incredibly durable. Cheap sneakers will have the top part glued to the bottom but not these they are hand sewn to the bottom rubber sole.

The upper is made of rich, artisan-treated leather the best of the best. You can easily clean them and after over a year of nonstop wear mine still basically perfect.

Side note: you will need a good pair of no-show socks to wear with these! .
