Sandals Royal Caribbean Beach
Youll have several beach options at Sandals Royal Caribbean. The main resort is nestled on a gorgeous sugar white stretch of sand along Montego Bay, and the private island that lies just offshore has 2 beautiful white sand beaches as well. Both offer shaded loungers and private spots to hang out, including overwater hammocks, as well as firepits for romantic evenings.
The main resort beach is where all the water sports activities are located.

Since their debut in 2016, the 15 overwater bungalow suites have been extremely popular, thanks to their swish bathrooms, private setting, and huge terraces with plunge pools. On the other side of the spectrum, the colonial-style entry-level rooms are a bit small and some lack balconies. Additionally, these only have shower/tub combos instead of separate showers and tubs, which is surprising for a hotel of this caliber.

Small Private Beaches With Sun Loungers And Fees To Use The Cabanas
The waterfront at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort is calm and clear for snorkeling, with patches of seagrass where fish hide. Sandy beaches are kept clean and raked, though the beaches are short and divided up with manmade seawalls — so if you’re seeking a long walk hand-in-hand on the sand with your significant other, look elsewhere. Loungers are comfortable and woven straw umbrellas provide a respite from the sun. Guests can bask on the beach at the resort or on the private island, which has a clothing-optional section — full drink service is offered on all beaches. Extra fees are required to use the semi-private cabana beds. Note that some past guests have complained of vendors coming to the beaches and by the main restaurant.

Who Do I Tip
First, we will start with who you DO NOT tip. Its basically all on-site staff with the exception of butlers, cabana butlers, and spa attendants. I know its tempting, especially for us Americans who come from a tipping heavy culture, but thats not the case with Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica. Here, they are strict about it, and employees can be fired over accepting tips. Just try not to break the rules and get anyone in trouble.
But there are a few people who can be tipped, so make sure to have cash and appropriate bills.
Based on our experience and through talking to many other regular Sandals Royal Caribbean visitors, weve compiled these average amounts of tips. But again, a tip is just that and can go up or down based on personal preference. Here are our recommendations:
Royal Beachfront Butler Corner Suites
These beautiful suites are beachfront and have fully retractable glass walls that open onto private balconies overlooking the ocean and the private island. Seven Heated Swimming Pools And Five Whirlpools With Drink Service
Swimming pools of all shapes and sizes throughout the resort are surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas, so there’s always a spot for guests to relax in the sun without squabbling over space. Pools are heated and kept very clean. Landscaping includes artificial rocks, blooming flowers, and columned pillars to create a tropical and colonial vibe. Some pools have views of the Caribbean. Whirlpools are kept hot, and drink service is available. Two swim-up bars are popular spots.

Enjoyed everything except the Italian restaurant. If youre tight on time I would pass on that. Bombay was the best restaurant for us at the resort. Theres a new area with a larger jacuzzi. So overall it wasnt too crowded and theres good options for jacuzzi. The butler option made the overall trip very enjoyable. Fun activities like volleyball scheduled daily. Lots of staff which always makes this more seamless. I would like to return one day or possibly check out one of the other sandals resorts. The standard was quite high

Close To The Airport Tucked Between Several Other Resorts
Just a 10-minute drive from Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, the resort is located right off of the main A1 highway. It’s set back from the road, and ample greenery helps to provide privacy and keep things quiet. However, the neighboring resorts and hotels are visible from the beach and certain other parts of the property. While the highway is too dangerous for pedestrians, the resort is a short drive from a number of shops, restaurants, and sights in the town center. Plenty of local golf courses are in close by to suit every skill level. The resort’s private island can be reached via free boat shuttles, kayaks, or on paddleboards. Airport transfers and shuttles to Sandals Inn and Sandals Montego Bay are free.

What Do Butlers Do/what Should I Ask For
They reserve chairs and have coolers waiting for you, bring you snacks during the day, stock your room, draw baths, arrange tours, make dinner reservations, arrange spa treatments, etc.
Were being totally honest in our Sandals Royal Caribbean Jamaica reviews while butlers can be the cherry on top for many guests, most get by fine without one. Butlers do have several other couples that they are serving at the same time, so do not expect them always at your beck and call.
Not all butlers are created equal, and everyone has good and bad days, so dont let butler performance make or break your trip. We learned this the hard way with a not-so-great butler experience causing us to miss out on enjoying most of our first day. Try to see them as a concierge who may go above and beyond. They are there to help when needed. Be pleasantly surprised when your expectations are exceeded rather than upset when higher ones arent met.
Sandals Royal Caribbean Pools
There are 7 pools at Sandals Royal Caribbean, two with swim-up bars, and multiple whirlpools.
The pool on the private island was our favorite. It was smaller and usually quiet with a swim-up bar, what more can you ask for?
The resort has a main pool overlooking the beach with a whirlpool. There are 5 other freshwater pools located throughout the property at the different villages, including a long lagoon pool in Crystal Lagoon Village .
